Today is the last chance to cast early ballots for Tuesday’s primaries.
More than 320,000 voters have already participated statewide, in person and by mail, topping the pace set in the last gubernatorial race in 2006, election records show.
That year, 251,432 ballots were cast through the entire early-voting period, compared with 321,140 who had voted through Wednesday, according to the most recent numbers available from the secretary of state’s office.
In Tarrant County, 26,546 Republican ballots and 5,630 Democratic ballots had been cast in person and by mail through Wednesday. In 2006, 15,507 Republican ballots and 4,366 Democratic ballots were cast during the entire early-voting period, election records show.
